Ingredients

  • 12 italian hot sausage
  • 3 lrg or 4-5 med russet potatoes skins on, sliced into 1/4 inch rounds
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper or to taste
  • 1 lrg onion choppped
  • 4 garlic cloves crushed
  • 8 slices bacon chopped and crisped
  • 4 cups chopped kale
  • 8 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups whipping cream

Preparation

Step 1

Squeeze sausage out of casings and fry in pan until cooked. Drain off oil and blot with paper towel until most of fat is absorbed.Transfer sausage into a large pot, add potatoes,red pepper flakes, onion, garlic,bacon and chicken broth. Simmer until potatoes are tender approx 20 minutes. Add kale and cream. Serve with foccacia bread or garlic breadsticks.
