Ingredients
- 3 cups sifted confectioners’ sugar
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) softened butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Nestle Choco Bake Unsweetened Baking Chocolate Flavor
- 1 envelope (1 oz.) for Light Buttercream
- 2 envelopes (2 oz.) for Medium Buttercream *
- 3 envelopes (3 oz.) for Dark Buttercream
- Approximately 1/4 cup milk or cream

Step 1
In large mixer bowl, blend confectioners’ sugar, butter, vanilla extract and desired amount of Nestle Choco Bake unsweetened baking chocolate flavor. Gradually beat in milk, one tablespoon at a time, beating until frosting is of smooth spreading consistency. (I find that beating longer makes the frosting nice and fluffy; it covers the cake better and it is not so sweet.)
Makes about 2 cups of frosting.
*I made the medium buttercream for the cake in the lounge.
Nestle Choco Bake can be difficult to find. I am able to find it in Safeway during the holidays and I think Wegmans carries it year-round.
