Cake-Jiffy Devil's Food

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 T unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 3 T canola oil
  • 1 T white vinegar
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1 Cup cold water

Preparation

Preheat to 350

Sift flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt into an ungreased 8x8" glass baking dish. Make 3 holes in the dry ingredients. Pour oil in one, vinegar in another, and vanilla in another. Pour water over all, and mix thoroughly with a fork to moisten.

Bake 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean. Yields 9 squares. 146 calories, 23 percent of calories from fat.
