Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 c. cold butter
  • 2 8oz. pks. cream cheese
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 can(21 oz.) apple pie filling
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 c. chopped walnuts

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 350
Spray bottom and sides of 13x9 inch pan with cooking spray(without flour)

Place cake mix in lf. bowl
Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture is crumbly and coarse.
Reserve 1 1/2cups crumb mixture for topping;press remaining mixture in pan.
Bake 10 mins.

Meanwhile,in lg. bowl,beat cream cheese,sugar,vanilla and egg with electric mixer on med. speed until smooth.

Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over partially baked crust.
In med. bowl,mix pie filling and cinnamon.
Spoon evenly over cream cheese mixture.
Sprinkle reserved crumbs over top.
Sprinkle with walnuts.

Bake 35-40 mins or until light golden brown.
Cool on cooling rack about 30 mins.
Refrigerate until chilled,about 2 hours.
Cut into 6 rows.
Store,covered in fridge.
