Grandma's Custard

Ingredients

  • 8 or 9 eggs
  • 5 1/2 to 6 C. milk (heated)
  • 1 - 1 1/4 C. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon extract

Preparation

Step 1

Beat eggs with hand beater or fork. Add sugar, vanilla, milk and stir well. Strain and pour into custard cups. Put a little nutmeg on top of individual cups.

Bake in a water bath at 350 for 30 min. on the lowest rack.
