Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup ground almonds (slivered or sliced are ok)

Preparation

Step 1

-preheat oven to 350 deg

-combine dry ingredients
-beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy
-add eggs, vanilla and almond extract
-beat until well blended; then reduce speed
-add flour mixture gradually until just combined
-fold in chips and nuts

-make 3 loaves each 10 in long
-bake 25 min
-cool for 15 min and slice and bake 10 to 15 min longer
