PEACH PRESERVES

Ingredients

  • Fresh peaches
  • Sure Jell (1 box to 4 cups of cooked fruit)
  • 1/2 cups sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Peel fully ripe peaches, slice or dice, wash one time.

Put fruit into a large kettle, squash with hands to make own juice. If not enough liquid, add very little water. About 1/2 cup.

Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly to make sure they won't scorch or burn.

Boil at least 5 minutes, then add the Sure Jell.

Bring mixture to another boil, add sugar, stirring constantly until all of the sugar is melted, at least 2-3 minutes.

Let mixture sit for 5 minutes, skim off foam.

Ladle fruit mixture into hot, sterilized jars, tighten lids and rings.

Let jars sit for 24 hours, then recheck lids and rings.
