Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups sifted flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup shortening
- 2 1/4 cups brown sugar (1 lb. package)
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup choppped nuts
- 1 package of chocolate chips

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Mix & sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
Melt shortening and add brown sugar. Stir until well mixed. Allow to cool slightly. Add eggs one at a time, beating well aftger each addition.
Add dry ingredients, then chopped nuts, and chocolate chips.
Pour into a greased jelly roll pan (10.5 x 15.5 x 3/4)
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
When almost cool, cut into 2x2 inch squares.
