Ingredients

  • 3 quarts popped popcorn (around 9 cups)
  • 10 Tbls. unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/2 tps salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 cups salted peanuts
  • Avoid popcorn with heavy butter seasoning

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat over to 250. Grease large roasting pan. Place popped popcorn in pan.
2. Melt butter in large saucepan. Add brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt, bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and baking soda (mixture will foam). Add peanuts and our over popcorn.3. Bake, stirring occasionally, until popcorn is deep golden brown and caramel has set, about 1 to 11/2 hours.
