Dulce de Leche Cake
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 5 egg whites
- 1/4 cup sugar for egg whites
- 11/4 cup milk
- Dulce de leche (available in stores)
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup dulce de leche
Preparation time 15mins
Cooking time 35mins
Preheat oven at 350 F. Grease 2 9 in. round pans.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
At high speed, beat egg whites, add sugar gradually until stiff peaks form. Set aside
At medium speed, cream sugar and butter until creamy. Add flour mixture alternately with milk, beat until smooth.
Fold flour mixture in egg whites carefully until combined. Divide batter among 2 prepared pans. Bake for 20 minutes.
Dulce de leche (available in stores)
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup dulce de leche
At high speed, whip cream until stiff. Lower the speed and gradually add dulce de leche. Beat until just combined.
Frost cake as desired.
