in a small bowl mash together garlic, paprika & pepper into a paste season turkey rubbing paste inside and out place whole onions in cavity heat oven 450 deg. place turkey breast side down in greased roasting pan place sliced onion and thyme around turkey, add broth roast for 1 hour turn turkey breast side up & continue cooking until thermometer reads 180 deg Baste a couple of times, if skin is browning too much, cover only turkey with foil set 20 minutes on platter before carving 13 lb. bird takes 2 1/4 hrs. 14-16 lb bird 2 1/2 hr. 16-18 lb bird 2 3/4 hr-3 hr.
