One pan toffee bars

An easy and delicious soft toffee bar.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c brown sugar
  • 1/3 c butter, softened
  • 3/4 teas vanilla
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 c Bisquick mix
  • 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips or milk chocolate
  • 1/2 c chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Preparation

Step 1

Mix brown sugar, butter, vanilla, and egg yolk. Then add Bisquick. Mix well and press evenly into a 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 for 16 to 18 minutes. Immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips and let them melt and then spread over bars. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
