Beef: Chuck Roast

Ingredients

  • 1 medium size chuck roast
  • 1/2 T vegetable oil
  • to taste paprika
  • 3-4 beef boullion cubes
  • carrots
  • potatoes
  • onions

Preparation

Step 1

Brown both sides.
Pour half full of water and bring to a boil.
Cover, cook and simmer at least 2 hours
Add vegetables and cook 40 additional minutes.

OR

Roast

Preheat oven 375 degrees. Salt and pepper. Place roast at room temperature on rack in shallow baking pan. Roast 1 hour at 375 degrees. Turn oven off but do not open door. Leave 3 hours. About 20 minutes before serving, prepare vegetables.
