Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 cup light molasses
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons groud ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 cup hot water
- Butter or nonstick cooking spray
- Whipped cream and orange peel (optional)

Step 1
1. Beat butter and sugar together in large bowl. Add egg, molasses, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt. Stir in hot water and mix well.
2. Grease inside of 2 to 3 quart crock pot with butter or non stick cooking spray. Pour batter into prepared stoneware. Cover; cook on high for 3 to 4 hours. Seve warm topped with whipped cream and orance peel, if dsired.
