Ingredients
- 11 egg whites
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 cup flour
- pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Preparation
Step 1
Beat egg whites until foamy, add cream of tartar.
Beat until stiff peaks form.
Sift together 4 times: sugar, flour, and salt.
Lightly stir this dry mixture into the egg whites. Add vanilla.
Pour into an angel food or bundt cake pan which has been lightly oiled and floured.
Bake at 350° F. for 30 minutes. Increase temperature to 375° F. for an additional 15 minutes or until cake is browned and center of cake is tested with a toothpick and it comes out clean.
