Ingredients

  • 1

    cup sugar

  • ½

    cup butter or margarine

  • 4

    eggs

  • 1

    (16 oz.) can chocolate syrup

  • 1

    cup all-purpose flour

  • 6

    tablespoons butter

  • 6

    tablespoons milk

  • 1

    cup white sugar

  • 1

    cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 8 x 8 or 9 x 14 baking dish. Mix together 1 cup sugar, ½ cup butter or margarine, eggs, chocolate syrup, and flour. Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool in pan. Combine 6 tablespoons butter or margarine milk, and 1 cup sugar in a saucepan. Stir and boil for 1 minute. Add 1 cup chocolate chips, and stir over low heat until melted. Frost cooled brownies immediately so frosting does not cool and harden. Cut into bars. Makes approx. 18 bars. NOTE: Brownies are good without frosting if you want something not so sweet.
