    c butter, softened, 4 oz cream cheese, softened, 1 c packed brown sugar, 1 egg yolk, 1 t maple flavoring, 2¾ c flour

  • Filling: 30 carmels, 6 oz cream cheese, softened


In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, cream cheese, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolk and maple flavoring. Gradually add flour and mix well. Refrigerate for 2 hours or until easy to handle. In a small saucepan, melt caramels. Stir in the cream cheese until blended. Set aside. Divide dough in half. Roll each portion between waxed paper to ¼ “ thickness. Apread caramel mixture over dough to within ½ inch of edges. Rollup tightly jelly roll style, staring with a long side. Wrap rolls in plastic wrap, refrigerate 4 hours until firm. Unwrap and cut into ¼ inch slices. Place 1 “ apart on baking sheets. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown at 350. Cool.
