Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp each baking powder, baking soda and salt
  • 1/2 cup each granulated sugar and packed light-brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup sweetened applesauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 Tbsp trans-fat-free spread (such as Smart Balance)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 11/2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup each raisins and toasted walnuts, finely chopped

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 350°F.Mix first 5 ingredients in a small bowl. Beat next 6 ingredients in a large bowl with mixer on high speed 3 minutes or until lighter in color. Reduce speed to low; beat in flour mixture just until blended. Stir in remaining ingredients.Drop mounds of dough (3 level tablespoonfuls each) 2 in. apart on a greased baking sheet; flatten slightly.Bake 10 to 15 minutes until lightly browned around edges. Cool on sheet on a wire rack 2 minutes before removing to rack to cool completely.
