Stovetop Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 C. Onion, diced
  • 2 Tbsp. Garlic, minced
  • 2 Cans ( 28 oz. each ) Whole Tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 2 tsp. Dried Basil Leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1/2 tsp. Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • Salt To Taste

Preparation

Step 1

Saute the onion in oil in a saute pan over med-high heat till soft, about 5 min. Add garlic & saute briefly, then stir in tomatoes with their juice; crush & simmer 15 min. Stir in sugar & seasonings, then simmer 15 min. longer. Serve.
