Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. green papaya
- 2 garlic cloves, sliced
- 3 to 4 red or green chili peppers, seeded
- 2 tomatoes, sliced into strips
- 2 Tbsp. fish sauce
- 4 Tbsp. lime juice
- 1/3 cup dried shrimp
- Lettuce leaves
- limes, cut into wedges
- Garnish: red or green chili peppers
Preparation
Step 1
Peel and seed the papaya and shred. Chop the garlic and chili peppers very finely or use a mortar and pesde to crush. Mix together the papaya, tomato, fish sauce, lime juice and dried shrimp. Add in the garlic/chili mixture. Place a portion of papaya mixture onto lettuce leaves and eat with your hands as a packet. Serve with wedges of lime. Garnish with red chili peppers.
