Ingredients
- Casserole:
- 1 2-lb frozen hash brown potatoes
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped onion
- 1 can cream of chicken (or celery) soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup milk
- 4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1- 1/2 to 2 cups grated sharp cheese (Colby or
- cheddar)
- Topping:
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
Preparation
Step 1
1. Mix all ingredients and put in a 9'' x 13'' pan, or
similar large casserole dish. Set aside while you
make the topping.
2. Melt butter in a small skillet; add breadcrumbs and
sauté until lightly browned.
3. Remove from heat and sprinkle topping over
potatoes.
4. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
