Butterscotch Sauce*

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 2/3 cup light cream

Preparation

Step 1

Combine brown sugar, corn syrup and butter in saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, to soft ball stage (234) Cool 5 minutes. Blend in cream. Serve hot or cold. Makes2-1/4 cups.
Butterscotch syrup:
Decrease butter from 1/3 to 1/4 cup.
