Ingredients
- 6 Tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
- 3 tart apples, peeled, cored, and halved lengthwise
- 3 pears, peeled, cored, and halved lengthwise
- 1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Melt 4 Tbsp. of the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. When the butter is melted, add the brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
Place the remaining 2 Tbsp. butter in a 9- or 10-inch pie plate and let it melt in the oven for about 5 minutes. Remove the plate from the oven and arrange the fruit cut side down in the bottom. Evenly distribute the brown sugar mixture over the apples and pears. Sprinkle with the bread crumbs.
Return the pie plate to the oven and bake for 25 minutes or until the fruit is soft when pierced with a fork. Serve hot.
