Beth's Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 4 c. flour
• 2 t. baking powder
• 1-1/2 c. sugar
• 2 eggs
• 3/4 c. butter
• 2 t. vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a mixing bowl mix together flour and baking powder.

In another bowl beat butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture a third at a time to make a stiff dough. Divide dough into four pieces.

Roll out one portion of dough to 1/4 inch thick. Cut out shapes and place on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake 10 min. Cool in pans for five minutes then transfer to rack and cool completely.

Makes 2 dozen cookies

Icing:
1/2 c. confectioners sugar
1-1/2 T. water
3-4 drops coloring

Mix icing ingredients. Get to decorating!!
