Ingredients

  • pie crust (homemade or Pillsbury 2 crust pack)
  • 6 red delicious apples
  • 3/4 Cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbs sweet butter
  • 1 tbs all-purpose flour
  • lemon juice (enough to sprinkle)
  • 2 tbs sweet butter or Pam

Preparation

Step 1

Peel and cut apples into strips
Mix sugar and cinnamon in measuring cup and reserve some to sprinkle on top of pie
Add sugar mix, butter, flour and sprinkle lemon juice onto apples in bowl
Mix well, cover and refrigerate for atleast 1 hr to masterize
Remove excess liquid from bowl
Place 1st crust on 9 inch pie pan (glass is best)
Place apples onto pie crust and spread evenly
Place 2nd crust over pie mixture and trim around so its shorter than bottom crust
Fold bottom crust ends over top crust ends and press with fork
Melt sweet butter (or spray Pam) and brush on top of pie
Sprinkle remaining sugar/cinnamon mix onto top of pie
Make an X in center of pie and bake for 50-60 minutes at 375 degrees
Let cool before serving
