Ingredients

  • 2 cups bran flakes
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 Tbsp canola oil
  • 2 eggs
  • Grated rind of one orange
  • 1 cup dried apricots chopped
  • 1 cup dates chopped
  • 1/3 cup chopped almonds

Preparation

Step 1

1. In a food processor, combine Bran Flakes,flour,sugar baking soda and salt; process for 1 second
2. Add buttermilk,oil,eggs and orange rind;process until blended
3. Stir in apricots,dates and almonds
4. Spread in a greased 13x9 pan. Bake in 375 oven for 25 minutes or un til tester inserted in centre comes out clean. Let cool before cutting into squares.
