Crab and Broccoli Casserole


A simple, fast, delicious weeknight dinner made elegant by the use of fresh crab.

  • 1 pkg. frozen broccoli spears
  • 2 Tbls. butter
  • 2 Tbls. finely chopped onion
  • 2 Tbls. flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 lb. cooked crab meat


Servings 4


Step 1

Heat oven to 350F. Cook broccoli according to pkg. directions until barely done. Arrange broccoli in the bottom of a 1 qt. casserole. Sauté onions in butter; stir in salt and flour. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly. Add cheese and cook over a low flame until thickened. Stir in lemon juice. Add crab meat and pour over broccoli. Bake until bubbly and browned, about 30 minutes. Serve with buttered noodles and fruit salad.
