Ingredients
- Crust:
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1/3 cup raspberry or apricot jam
- (anything you have is fine)
- Filling:
- 1 250g package softened cream cheese
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
- Topping:
- 3 cups peeled thinly sliced MacIntosh apples
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- Drizzle:
- 1/2 to 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon butter

Preparation
Step 1
Crust:
Preheat oven to 450. Cream butter and sugar together thoroughly. Blend in flour. Press evenly into the bottom of an 8 ½” springform pan. Spread jam evenly over the bottom of the crust.
Filling:
Beat all Filling ingredients together with an electric mixer until smooth and light. Spread over jam.
Topping:
Toss apples, sugar and cinnamon together to coat well. Layer apples over filling. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake for 10 minutes and then reduce heat to 400 for 25-30 minutes or until set and apples are tender. Cool slightly, then remove pan rim.
Drizzle:
Melt chocolate chips and butter in the microwave. Stir it quickly to get it nice and smooth and a good consistency. Dip a fork in the chocolate and just wave it back and forth in a quick motion over the cake.
