Ingredients
- 1 lb. Italian sausage (hot, sweet or combination)
- 1 14 oz. can crushed tomatoes
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. prepared mustard
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 15 oz. can baked beans
- 1 15 oz. can kidney beans, drained
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Preparation
Step 1
Freezes well.
Remove sausage from casings, crumble meat and saute until browned. Drain and set aside.
Simmer tomatoes, onion, brown sugar, mustard and salt and pepper tof r30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in sausage, beans, and bacon. Simmer for 15 minutes.
Yields 4 - 6 servings
