Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 onion (finely chopped) 1/4 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 C fine bread crumbs 1/2 tsp pepper
  • Sauce
  • 1 (12 ounce) chili sauce 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 C water 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 C tomato juice 1 tsp oregano leaves
  • 1/2 C dark Karo syrup 1/4 tsp garlic salt
  • 2 Tbsp chili powder 1/4 tsp hot pepper sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Mix all the meatball ingredients together and roll into balls. Place on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. In a skillet combine remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer about 15 minutes. Add meatballs. Cover and simmer gently about 15 minutes. If sauce becomes too thick add tomato juice. Serve warm with toothpicks. Makes 90 balls.
