Ingredients

  • Prawn(medium/big) : 10

  • Onion(grated/paste) : 2-3 tbsp.

  • Ginger paste : 1 tsp.

  • Tomato : 1(big)finely chopped

  • Bay leaf : 1

  • Green chilli-2 silted

  • Poppy seed :1 1/2 tbsp (soak in warm water and ground to paste)

  • Turmeric power: 3 tsp.

  • Chilli powder : 2 tsp.

  • Salt to taste

  • Sugar : 1 tsp.

  • Oil : 3 tbsp.

  • Garam Masala powder : 1/2 tsp

Directions

Wash prawns and marinate them with little salt and turmeric powder. Keep aside for 10 minutes. Heat 2 tbsp. oil and Lightly Fry shrimps on both sides until they turn lightly brown. In the same oil, add onion paste, fry till paste turns light brown, then add ginger paste and poppy seed paste, Stir fry for 2-3 mins.,then add turmeric and red chilli powder ,add little water to the paste. Sauté for few minutes, then add chopped tomatoes and stir fry in medium flame till tomatoes turn pulpy and oil separates the masala. Add fried shrimps one by one. Mix well with the spice paste, add sugar and salt. Mix well and add green chillies. Add about 1 cup of water and in medium flame with close lid, let it cook until you have your desired consistency of gravy. Remove from heat and sprinkle garam masala powder over the gravy. Serve hot with white rice.
