Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. sugars
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c. all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 tblsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

In an electric mixer bowl put butter,sugar and vanilla. Beat until creamy.
Beat in the eggs a to combine.

sift together the flour,cream of tartar, baking soda and salt, and add gradually to the butter mixture on low speed, scrapping down sides of bowl as needed. Chill dough for 30 mins. or longer.

Take pieces of the dough and roll into 1" size balls. Combine sugar and cinnamon and roll the balls in it. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 mins. Remove cookies from baking sheets and cool.
Makes 5 doz.
