Meatloaf 0 Picture

  • 1.5 lbs. lean ground beef
  • 1 lg. onion
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 6 slices white or wheat bread, wet & squeezed
  • Garlic powder to taste
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 T. yellow mustard, divided
  • 1/2 c. ketchup, divided
  • 3 T. brown sugar

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, thoroughly mix the ground beef, onion, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix in bread, (which I like to wet first, & squeeze out excess water, then pull apart into pieces) milk, egg, 2 T. mustard and 1/4 c. ketchup.
Press the meat mixture into a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. In a small bowl, stir together remaining mustard, ketchup, and brown sugar; pour on top of the meat loaf. Bake in a preheated oven for 2 hours. (I know this is lengthy, but trust me, it's worth the wait).
