Ingredients
- 2 C. chopped raisins
- 1 1/2 C. water
- 1 1/2 C. brown sugar -- divided
- 1 C. plus 1 Tbs. flour -- divided
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 C. shortening
- 2 C. rolled oats
- 1 tsp. baking soda

Directions
In a saucepan combine raisins, water, 1/2 C. brown sugar and 1 Tbs. flour. Cook, stirring, until thick. Remove from heat, Stir in vanilla. In large bowl combine shortening, 1 C. brown sugar, rolled oats, 1 tsp. baking soda and 1 C. flour. Spread half of oats mixture in 13- x 9- x 2-in. baking pan. Add raisin mixture. Cover with remaining oats mixture. Bake for 20 minutes at 375 F.
