Shredded Barbeque Beef

Ingredients

  • 1 boneless beef chuck roast (about 4 lbs)
  • 2 large onions chopped
  • 1 c. ketchup
  • 1 c. beef broth
  • 2/3 c. chili sauce
  • 1/4 c. cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp Worchestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp prepared mustard
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 caayenne pepper
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 12-16 Kaiser rolls or buns

Preparation

Step 1

In dutch oven, brown roast on all sides in oil. Once browned, remove roast, add more oil if needed and saute onions. Add remaining ingredients, bring to boil, reduce heat, simmer uncovered for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add roast, coating both sides, and bake at 325 degrees for 2 hours, turn roast and bake for 2 more hours or until meat is tender. Remove roast, shred with a fork and return to sauce. Serve on rolls.
