Ingredients
- 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup (150 g) vegetable shortening, butter flavored
- 5 tablespoons (75 ml) ice water
Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 425F (220C).
2. Place flour and salt into the Vitamix container and secure lid.
3. Select Variable 1.
4. Turn machine on and slowly increase speed to Variable 5.
5. Blend for 10 seconds and remove the lid plug.
6. Drop shortening through the lid plug opening.
7. Blend for 5 seconds. Add water through the lid plug opening and process until just mixed.
8. Refrigerate dough for 1 hour. Roll out between sheets of waxed paper. Bake shell for 15 minutes.
