KILLER BROWNIES

By

Whenever we got together as a group in Altus, whether for 4th of July or someone’s going away party, Sarah always made killer chocolate desserts. This is one that everyone asked the recipe for.

  • 1 oz unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 2 eggs
  • 1-2 Tbsp milk
  • Filling:
  • 6 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts
  • 6 oz package chocolate chips
  • Frosting:
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 oz unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 cups confectioners’ sugar

Step 1

Grease and flour 9x13 inch pan. Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt ½ cup butter and 1 oz chocolate, add remaining bar ingredients; mix well and spread in pan. In a small bowl, combine 6 oz cream cheese with next 5 filling ingredients. Blend till smooth and fluffy. Stir in nuts. Spread over bar mixture. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. Bake 25-35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Sprinkle with marshmallows and bake 2 minutes more. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt ¼ cup butter, 1 oz chocolate, remaining cream cheese and milk. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla till smooth. Pour over marshmallows immediately and swirl together.
