Ingredients
- For the filling:
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups oats
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp bkg soda
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups dates
- Zest and juice of 1 lemon
- Pinch of salt
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 350*. Prepare an 8-8" pan. Combine dry ingredients to make a crumbly texture. Press 2/3 of this into the bottom of the pan.
To make the filling, cut pitted dates into dice and the lemon and zest in a saucepan and cook for 12 minutes.
Cool before using. Then spread onto crust and dot with remaining crumbs. Bake @350* for 35 minutes, or golden brown.
