  • Date Nut Roll
  • 2 c. Sugar
  • 1 c. Milk
  • 1/4 c. Butter
  • 1 c. Dates chopped
  • 1 c. Chopped nuts
  • 1 c. Shredded coconut



Step 1

Combine sugar milk and butter in a heavy saucepan. Cook to soft ball stage add dates; continue cooking and stirring until candy becomes very thick the bubbles will pop with a hissing sound and the mixture will follow the spoon remove from heat add nuts and coconut stir until mixture has consistency of a soft cookie dough turn out cloth dipped in cold water form into 2 long rolls about 1-½ in. in diameter cool cut into slices wrap in waxed paper this kind of candy will freeze well and will keep for several weeks in refrigerator.
