Ingredients

  • 24 lasagna noodles (not cooked)
  • 1 oz carton of cottage cheese
  • 24 slices of mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 C parmesan cheese (dry)
  • 1 # hamburger
  • 1/2 # mild Italian sausage
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1/2 C chopped onion
  • 8 oz chopped mushrooms
  • 1 lge can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 sm can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 lge can of tomato paste
  • 2 T oregano
  • 2 T basil
  • 1 T sugar
  • 1 C red wine

Preparation

Step 1

Brown meat, onions and green pepper together. Drain off fat. Add remaining vegetables and seasonings. Cook 30 min and then add wine.
Place 4 lasagna noodles lengthwise in a lasagna pan with 2 on the end. Spoon a layer of meat mixture, sprinkle 1/3 carton of cottage cheese, sprinkle 1/3 of parmesan and lay 8 slices of cheese on top. Repeat so you'll have 3 layers. Either make the night before or let sit for a few hours so sauce soaks into noodles. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes.
