Ingredients
- Crust:
- 2 C flour
- 1/2 C sugar
- 1/2 t baking powder
- Dash of salt
- 1 C butter
- 1 egg (beaten)
- Apple Filling:
- 1/2 C sugar
- 1/2 flour
- 1 t cinnamon
- 4 C (about 3) sliced apples
- Glaze:
- 2 C powdered sugar
- 3 T milk
- 1 t almond extract

Step 1
Mix flour, sugar, salt and baking powder together. Cut in butter with pastry blender. Gently mix in beaten egg. Grease 9 x 13 pan. Gently pat 2/3 of crust mixture onto pan. Prepare apple filling - Mix flour, sugar and cinnamon. Toss w/ apples and spread out over crust. Sprinkle remaining 1/3 of crust on top of apples.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. To prepare glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, almond extract and enough milk to make desired consistency. Place glaze in plastic bag and cut off a very small portion of the one corner. Drizzle glaze over cooled pastry and allow to harden. Cut into bars
