Ingredients

  • 1 c water
  • 1/2 c butter
  • 1 t sugar
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1 c sifted flour, plain
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 pint strawberries, cleaned, topped, sliced
  • Mix with 2 T powdered sugar and chill while preparing pastry
  • Cool Whip
  • Pre-heat oven 400 degrees

Step 1

Heat water, butter, sugar, salt to full boil in large sauce pan. Add flour all at once. Stir vigorously with wooden spoon till mix forms a thick and smooth ball, leaves sides of pan. Remove from heat. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition until pastry is shiney and smooth. Drop mix by rounded T into 12 even mounds on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 40 minutes till puffed and golden brown. Cool completely.

Serving:
Slice top from pastry puff. Remove any filament. Fold berries into cool whip. Spoon into pastry puff and replace top. Garnish with powdered sugar and berries.
