Gooey Butter Cake

Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 1 18 1/4-ounce package yellow cake mix Dr. Oetker Organic Cake Mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup reduced-fat buttermilk
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Filling:
  • 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 of 16-ounce box powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup plain nonfat Greek-style yogurt

Preparation

Step 1

For the cake: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9-by-9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

Place the cake mix, buttermilk, butter and egg in a large bowl and, using an electric hand mixer, blend together until smooth. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.

For the filling: Beat the cream cheese until smooth. Beat in the sugar, yogurt, butter and vanilla. Spread over the cake mixture. Bake 40 to 45 minutes. You want the center to be a little gooey, so do not over bake.
