Slow-Roasted Smoky Baby Back Ribs

  • 2 (2 1/2-pound) racks pork baby back ribs
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1/3 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup prepared barbecue sauce, plus extra for serving

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 300°. Line a large baking pan with aluminum foil. Place ribs, bone side down, in prepared pan. Drizzle with oil.
In a small bowl, combine sugar, paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Rub sugar mixture over ribs. Loosely cover with foil. Bake for 2 hours, or until tender. Uncover, brush with sauce, and bake 10 minutes longer. Serve with additional sauce.
