Ingredients

  • COOKIE DOUGH LAYER:
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 t. baking soda
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 T milk
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

In microwave, melt chocolate chips. Cool slightly.

In bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Stir in melted chocolate. Combine flour and baking soda; add to batter. Stir in the walnuts.

Spread into greased 13x9 pan. Bake at 350° for 16-22 minutes or until a toothpick comes our clean. Cool on a wire rack.

In bowl, cream butter and sugars. Beat in milk and vanilla. Gradually add flour. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by tablespoonfuls over cooled brownies; carefully spread over top. Cut into squares. Store in refrigerator.
