Cantaloupe Granita

Low effort, high reward. An easy summertime treat, easy and doesn't require any special equipment. The key is selecting a fruit at peak flavor and sweetness.

Ingredients
- 2 c chopped cantaloupe, about 1/2 melon
- 1/4 c sugar, or to taste
- 1/2 T fresh lemon juice, or to taste
- 1 c ice cubes
Preparation
Step 1
Puree all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Pour mixture into 13" x 9" metal baking pan and place in freezer. Every 20 minutes, scrape the mixture with a fork until all the frozen pieces are broken into small shavings mixed well with the remaining liquid remains, about 1 hour. Serve in chilled glasses.
