Ingredients
- 2 cups sifted self rising flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup milk*
- *If desired, add 2 tbsp of vinegar to whole milk to sour. Would then be almost 1 cup.
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 450 degrees. Put sifted flour & baking powder in bowl. Add shortening and cut in until all particles are like coarse meal. Add milk and mix quickly with a fork.
Turn dough out onto lightly floured board. Knead. Roll out and cut with floured cutter. Place on ungreased baking sheet.Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
