Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless skinless turkey breast
  • 1/2 tsp each salt and pepper
  • 2 tsp dried sage
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 slices bacon chopped
  • 2 tart cooking apples cored and sliced
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375. Lightly grease 12 x 9 inch baking pan.

Sprinkle turkey with salt and peper and half of the sage. In large skillet melt butter over high heat. Brown turkey for 2 minutes per side or until golden. Remove from heat and transfer turkey to baking dish. Let pan cool sligtly. Bake turkey in oven for 25 minutes.

Meanwhile return pan to medi um heat. Cok onion, bacon and remaining sage stirring 3 to 4 minutes until onions are softened. Add apples. Cook 2 minutes until apples begin to soften.

Whisk flour into milk and stock. Stir into pan. Bring to boil reduce heat and simmer stirring for 3 minutes or until slightly thickened. Stir in lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper. Pour overturkey. Bake for 20 minutes or until no longer pink. Let stand 5 minutes.
