Ingredients
- Crust:
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- Middle layer:
- 4 eggs
- 1 lb brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 lb chopped nuts (save 1 cup for topping)
- 1 small package (7 oz) coconut
- Frosting:
- 1 cup butter
- 1 lb powdered sugar
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1 tsp vanilla
Preparation
Step 1
Crust:
Cream together. Knead and press into large jelly roll pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 15 minutes
Middle Layer:
Beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Add remaining ingredients. Spread over shortbread. Bake at 300 degrees for 15 minutes; then 350 degrees for 5 minutes. Cool completely
Frosting:
Cream together. Spread over bake bars. Sprinkle the reserved 1 cup of nuts.
