Swedish Lace Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • 1/4 cup dark Karo syrup
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the butter, cream, sugar, vanilla and corn syrup together in a large bowl. Combine flour, baking powder and oatmeal in another bowl. Add to the wet mixture.

Drop the cookies by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 minutes, or until light brown around the edges.

Remove from the oven and cool for 1 minute.

With a flat spatula, remove the cookies from the cookie sheet and wrap them around the stem of a wooden spoon. Hold for a couple of seconds until set.
